step 1
In a large bowl, mix together Onion (1), Panko Breadcrumbs (1/2 cup), Milk (3 Tbsp), Egg (1), Fresh Parsley (2 Tbsp), Grated Parmesan Cheese (4 Tbsp), Garlic (1 clove), Salt (1 tsp), and Ground Black Pepper (to taste). Use a fork to mix everything to combine.
step 2
Add Ground Beef (1 lb) and use your hands and mix everything up until evenly incorporated.
step 3
Form the meat mixture into about 20 meatballs by gently rolling each one between your hands.
step 4
Coat a large saute pan with Cooking Oil (2 Tbsp) and bring to medium heat. Brown the meatballs for about 4 minutes on both sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.
step 5
Make the sauce in the same pan. Remove any excess grease. Add Extra-Virgin Olive Oil (3 Tbsp) and let it get hot. Add Yellow Onion (1) and cook stirring occasionally for 3-5 minutes. Add Garlic (3 cloves) and cook for 30 seconds or so.
step 6
Add Crushed Tomatoes (4 cups), rinse the can with 1/2 cup of water, and add it to the pan. Stir and bring to a simmer.
step 7
Add Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (1/4 tsp), Salt (1/2 tsp), Granulated Sugar (1/2 tsp), and Ground Black Pepper (to taste), and stir. Add the meatball. Cover and lower heat to low. Cook for 30-45 minutes
step 8
Stir in Fresh Basil Leaves (6), and add more seasonings if needed.
step 9
Stir in the Spaghetti (13 oz). Serve with parmesan cheese and garlic bread.
